An acrylic primer is Not best for aluminum siding, specially if the aluminum is fully exposed. Many acrylics contain ammonia which will react when applied directly onto the surface of the siding. It won't show immediately, but will pop the paint inside a few months. It is imperative to use a quality oil primer on all exposed aluminum, then follow with latex.
